HOW TO MAKE DAIRY-FREE BUTTERCREAM FROSTING

Image
If you’ve ever wondered how to make dairy-free buttercream frosting, you’re in the right place! This step-by-step tutorial will demonstrate how easy it is to make perfect dairy-free buttercream frosting every time! Plus, we share our favorite dairy-free butter brands, tips for success, and recipes to put it to good use! DAIRY-FREE BUTTERCREAM FROSTING VS. BUTTERCREAM FROSTING The two main differences between traditional and dairy-free buttercream frosting are: The dairy butter is replaced with vegan butter. The whipping cream or milk is replaced with non-dairy milk. AS FOR PREPARATION, THE BASIC RULES STILL APPLY: Use softened vegan (or dairy-free) butter, which blends better (and don’t microwave chilled butter to speed softening time – it will make your buttercream runny) Use quality powdered sugar and sift it before adding to the butter or it can form clumps If your buttercream gets too thick, simply thin with a little dairy-free milk of choice (ours being  creamy coconut ) HOW TO US

HOMEMADE PEPPERMINT BARK

Image
Don’t waste your money on a tin of store-bought candy when you can make your own homemade peppermint bark! It’s easy and so delicious! This past weekend I went to plug in my SD card to pull pictures for a this post and they were all gone. GONE. I was in shock. Everything I had saved up for December had suddenly disappeared. I hadn’t used the camera in days so I wasn’t like I accidentally wiped the card (which is hard to do without knowing). Thankfully my amazing husband came to the rescue and managed to recover everything. We’re still not sure what happened but what a relief it was to see all 4,000+ files, including the ones for this homemade peppermint bark!  Whew . I look forward to sneaking a few pieces of peppermint bark from the candy platter every year. It’s one of those treats that never gets old. Buying an entire tin of it can be really expensive. Making it at home is definitely more practical and a lot more fun! This bark was easy and tasted just as good as the store-bought ki

ULTIMATE CHOCOLATE CUPCAKES

Image
Moist, rich, cupcakes with intense chocolate flavor in every bite. These are the ultimate chocolate cupcakes! Valentine’s Day is right around the corner! I don’t know about you, but I always look forward to ALL THINGS chocolate! These cupcakes are a scaled-down version of my  chocolate blackout cake . They’re perfect for classroom treats, a girls night in, or a romantic dinner. If you know me, you know I’m pretty particular when it comes to cupcakes. They have to be moist, rich and perfectly sweet. These cupcakes check all of the boxes. They’ve quickly become my go-to recipe. I’ve used them as a base for raspberry buttercream topped cupcakes, salted caramel buttercream topped cupcakes, and mint chocolate chip buttercream topped cupcakes. They’re the best! Today I thought I’d go all chocolate… and let me tell you, I have no regrets! They are heavenly. You’ll start by making the cupcakes, then while they cool you’ll mix up the frosting and gather the garnishes. For both the cupcakes and
