GRILLED PEACHES WITH VANILLA ICE CREAM
Sweet and juicy grilled peaches with vanilla bean ice cream. These are ready to go in just 15 minutes- a perfect treat for summer BBQs!
Fruit desserts are my absolute favorite. There’s nothing like cooking or baking with fresh, seasonal fruit! These grilled peaches are perfect for this time of year. They only take a few minutes to make and they can be done outside. Win-win! So grab yourself 4 BIG juicy peaches and let’s get grilling!
First, you’ll need to cut the peaches in half and remove the pits. This is much easier with freestone peaches, trust me 🙂 You can probably tell which were clingstone and which were freestone in the picture above. Once the pits have been removed, brush the cut sides with a bit of canola oil. Then pop them onto a hot grill. You can use an outdoor grill OR an indoor grill.
Let the peaches cook for 3 minutes or so, then rotate them 9o degrees and allow them to cook for an additional 3-4 minutes. You want them to get nice and caramelized! When they’re done, pull them off and brush them with the butter, brown sugar and cinnamon mixture. Add a pinch of flaky sea salt on top as a finishing touch. This is optional, but I think it really helps balance out and enhance the sweetness of the fruit.
Serve them warm with a BIG scoop of vanilla ice cream. They’ll disappear in seconds! If you’re looking to go a slightly healthier route, you can always drizzle them with a mixture of honey, cinnamon, vanilla, and sea salt. Yum!!
